Dennis Hoffman is the President of Stargate Studios Vancouver. He is a visual effects veteran with more than 26 years of industry experience. Prior to his association with Stargate, Hoffman was the Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Framestore in Montreal. While at Framestore, Hoffman oversaw projects including Paddington (2014), The Legend of Tarzan (2016), Pan (2015). Hoffman has held executive positions at a number of VFX companies including Digital Domain, Method, CIS, Cinesite and Dream Quest Images. Over the years he has been involved in numerous projects recognized for their visual effects, including for Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Changeling (2008). He also worked on Mighty Joe Young (1998), which was nominated for an Academy Award, VES nominee Invictus (2009) and the Emmy award-winning Earth 2 (1994). Hoffman is a founding member at the Visual Effects Society (VES) and currently serves on both its international board and the board of the Vancouver chapter. He is also on the board of the Spark CG Society which holds animation and VFX conferences and film festivals in Vancouver.
