Ivor Benjamin is a London-based director, playwright and journalist. He is the current Chair of the Directors Guild of Great Britain and a Trustee of the Directors Guild Trust. He was also the Chair of the UK Equity Directors Committee 2009-2013.
He was instrumental in developing the Guild as a cross-media training and events organization, introducing The annual Peter Brook Lecture in 2010 and the UK Visual Effects Advantage Conference in 2011. He is proud that the Guild has helped to promote Chinese film in London and has chaired the China Image London Film Festival’s UK Jury from 2011 to 2015. In 2013 he was honoured to be one of the judges for the 3rd Beijing International Film Festival – the first year the festival included a full international competition. Benjamin is a director, playwright and journalist, a strong advocate of the recorded and live performance arts and qualified systems analyst with a background in virtual reality research.
