An annual celebration of the arts and talent of international emerging filmmakers, GPIFF aims to discover and support emerging filmmaking talent worldwide.

Festival guests, filmmakers, and the audience will join the 5th GPIFF Red Carpet and Awards Ceremony for a night to celebrate the talent and craft of global filmmakers. All 14 awards will be presented at the ceremony.

  • Red Carpet & Pre-Party: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
  • Awards Ceremony: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Ticket holders will walk the Red Carpet between 3:00 PM and 4:15 PM

Guest Speaker: Bo Svenson

An acting and writing lesson given by Bo Svenson, a 50 year Hollywood veteran (Outlaw, Legacy, Kill Bill Vol 2, Inglourious Basterds).


Actors will learn to appreciate the value of being themselves within the given circumstances of the scene, where writers will learn how to grab the reader, and format their screenplays for maximum impact — and be succinct.

Bring your story idea to a broader audience. Integrating international film resources, the Project Pitch Event aims to connect global film industries and assist industry insiders in the further development of potential film projects.


Network with representatives from world’s leading film production companies, distributors, suppliers, and investors.

The 5th GPIFF Industry Party: Canada-China Film Gala will be held on December 9 at Vancouver Art Gallery.

A high-end event for cultural communication, the Canada-China Film Gala will bring together elites in film industries from dozens of countries and regions, as well as representatives from all walks of life.

More than 200 industry professionals and guests in politics, economy, and arts will gather together to share insightful conversation, and discuss the collaboration between Canada and China in film and cultural industries while enjoying the elegant artistic atmosphere in the gallery, which is one of Vancouver’s cultural landmarks.

Exquisite food and drinks, as well as melodious music played by live performers, will make the night a pleasurable experience for all attending guests.

This year, GPIFF is bringing a lineup of visually-compelling, heart-touching and thought-provoking films created by young-generation filmmakers to Vancouver’s big screen. Held at Vancity Theatre, the four-day Public Screening running from December 4 – 7, 2017, aims to shine a light on the talent and craft of the world’s up-and-coming filmmakers.
